Follow-up and Student Cultural Counseling
Upon the students' arrival, our Homestay Coordinator
provides the student with a personal welcome and orientation.
During the student's stay, we will intermittently follow-up with
them to ensure that they are happy with their homestay situation.
If any problems or conflicts arise our staff will always be available
to provide support and services to the student and the host family.
We understand that the first few months in
a different country can present many challenges for students.
Our staff will be available to the student for any questions and
problems that may arise. Our Hosts are trained to be understanding
of cultural differences. Our goal is to provide a positive homestay
experience for each student. Beacon wants to hear from students
if they are uncomfortable or worried about anything.
Students are asked to fill out an evaluation
of their host family during their stay. The confidential evaluation
gives students the opportunity to voice any problems or concerns
as well as share any positive experiences that they may have.
We have a twenty-four hour emergency service
that is available to both the student and the host family.
